Drum Technical Tips
The Owner's Manual provided will walk you through disassembling the drum to adjust spring tension to work with your firearm. The manual is also available HERE. Recommended ammunition is Federal, CCI/Blazer, American Eagle .40 grain. Use a good round nosed bullet, stay away from hollow points. Be sure to keep your rifle cleaned and well lubed.
BOLT DRAG/STOVE PIPING/JAMMING
You will notice one side of the feed lips is taller than the other. We have added this material to accommodate those rifles built with higher cut mag wells. Depending on your brand of rifle, you might have a lower cut mag well. This may cause “bolt drag”. Insert the drum into your rifle unloaded. Slowly pull the bolt back a few times to see if you are getting any bolt drag, mostly on the left feed lip (taller lip). If so, you can remove a small amount of material without affecting the performance of the drum.
1. If the feed lips look like the image below, use any file and file/smooth the surface down. 2. Take a sharpie and black out the chipped/scratched areas. 3. Cyle a few rounds. If there is any contact between the bolt and feed lips/ramp you will see the new chipped/scratch marks. 4. Repeat step 2 until the bolt has cleared the feed lips and feed ramp.

FAILURE TO FEED
Not too common but can happen depending on the model of your rifle. The drum spring may be too tight causing ammo to rush up and out the tower faster than your bolt speed. You may also have feeding issues if the spring is too loose. The best feature of our drum is that it is designed so you have the ability to adjust spring tension. There are so many rifles on the market that all seem to function a little different. Please see our owner's manual for disassembly/assembly of the drum.
